Ode to…Anne & Gilbert

Here is an end-of-month review.
As you know I spent my holidays in P.E.I.; long white beaches,bright green fields,red dirt roads,gentle hills, rolling seas.While on the Island I attended a preview performance of the new musical Anne and Gilbert.
This is a stage furtherance of the story of Anne of Green Gables, based on successive books in the Lucy Maud Montgomery canon. I don't care much for LMM, nor am I big on musicals.
Anne and Gilbert is a marvel.
Let me single out Nancy White, who over the course of the past nine years has had more than a hand in the music. She is not just good, she is as close as it gets to genius in this country, I would like to shower her with rose petals. When the play is ready - it needs minor tweaking- it will run forever. Bravissima!
